Dr. Nike Folayan is a chartered engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, with a PhD in Electronics Engineering and a strong record of international research publications and citations. She is known for her ability to cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with various stakeholders, including company board members, government officials, strategic partners, and staff. Dr. Folayan is an advisory board member of various governmental and non-governmental organizations, including the Royal Academy of Engineering, Transport for London, and the University of Kent Industrial Panel. She has been recognized as one of the top 100 most influential women in engineering by the Financial Times and inclusive boards list.
Dr. Folayan is co-founder and chairperson of AFBE-UK, a UK-wide organization that promotes higher achievement in engineering, particularly for underrepresented groups. She has actively supported over 20,000 individuals seeking to work in engineering and engineering-related subjects. She is a speaker and panelist on various seminars and conferences, discussing topics such as antenna design, communications systems in transport and infrastructure, SMART technology, diversity, and inclusiveness. Dr. Folayan won the 2008 Precious "Inspiring Leader in the Workplace" award and specializes in communications system designs, antenna design, electromagnetic simulation software, and diversity in engineering.
