Bio of Stephen Woodhouse

Stephen Woodhouse is a Director at AFRY Management Consulting with over twenty years of experience in the energy industry. He specializes in changing energy markets and the strategic response of commercial players. Stephen led Pöyry's global work on energy market design and is an expert in energy market reform. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to the global and EU debate on market designs for decarbonization, flexibility, capacity, and network access. Stephen has led national programs for market reform on several occasions and has worked on electricity markets in around 30 countries.
Stephen has a proven track record as a leader, having spent 18 months as the Pöyry Group Chief Digital Officer, championing AI-based optimization and scheduling for asset-backed trading, and leading the company's own internal transition. With an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge, Stephen is an inspirational conference speaker and has published numerous papers on electricity markets.
