Story Musgrave

Story Musgrave is an exceptional individual whose life is marked by an extraordinary array of accomplishments and pursuits. Born on August 19, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts, he considers Lexington, Kentucky, to be his true home. With a diverse educational background, Musgrave has obtained degrees in mathematics and statistics, operations analysis and computer programming, chemistry, medicine, physiology and biophysics, and literature. This multidisciplinary foundation has paved the way for his illustrious career in various fields.

Musgrave's involvement in numerous organizations showcases his wide-ranging interests and dedication to professional excellence. He is a member of esteemed groups such as the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Geographic Society, and the United States Parachute Association, among others. Throughout his life, Musgrave has garnered numerous honors and awards, including NASA Exceptional Service Medal and the NASA Distinguished Service Medal.

With extensive experience as a scientist-astronaut for NASA, Musgrave contributed significantly to the Skylab Program and played crucial roles in the design and development of Space Shuttle extravehicular activity equipment. He has embarked on six space flights, accumulating over 1,281 hours in space.
