453: The ADHD Advantage, Skye Waterson on How to Build Better Businesses With Neurodivergent Strengths

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Skye Waterson. If you’ve ever struggled with traditional productivity systems or felt like your brain just doesn’t fit the mold, Skye’s story and work will be a game-changer. She’s the founder of Unconventional Organisation, an ADHD support and coaching service designed to help entrepreneurs and executives build focused, sustainable success—without burnout.

Diagnosed with ADHD while completing her PhD, Skye realized that the usual productivity advice wasn’t built for minds like hers. So she created her own framework—one that now powers the systems used by over 82,000 professionals who follow her work. Her podcast The ADHD Skills Lab has over 200,000 downloads, and her web articles have reached more than a quarter million readers.

Skye’s belief is that ADHD isn’t a flaw to overcome—it’s a different operating system that, when properly supported, can be a massive asset. And through her work with founders, executives, and creatives, she’s helping people rewire their approach to focus, consistency, and scale.

452: 3.5 Seconds to Freedom - The Founding Fathers, Liberty, and the Entrepreneurial Spirit That Changed the World

452: 3.5 Seconds to Freedom - The Founding Fathers, Liberty, and the Entrepreneurial Spirit That Changed the World

Hello Misfit Entrepreneurs! This is Dave Lukas and Welcome to a very special Independence Day edition of The Misfit Entrepreneur Podcast.

Today, we pause to honor a radical, world-changing idea—an idea that birthed a nation unlike any other in history.

On July 4th, 1776, fifty-six men signed a document that would forever alter the course of humanity. They didn’t just declare independence from a king—they declared independence for the individual. They declared that your rights didn’t come from government, but from God. That liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness were not privileges, but birthrights.

In doing so, they ignited a revolution—not just of nations, but of minds, markets, and human potential.

451: The 1% Better Mindset, Marc Nudelberg on High-Performance Habits and Leadership

451: The 1% Better Mindset, Marc Nudelberg on High-Performance Habits and Leadership

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Marc Nudelberg. Marc is a TEDx speaker, bestselling author, award-winning leadership and sales coach, and the president of On the Ball, a family-owned coaching agency that’s been helping businesses grow for over 25 years.

Marc’s journey began on the sidelines—as an NCAA Division I football coach—where he learned the power of discipline, culture, and performance under pressure. But he didn’t stop there. Recognizing that leadership fundamentals transcend the game, he transitioned from coaching athletes to coaching entrepreneurs, executives, and high-performing teams across industries.

Under Marc’s leadership, On the Ball has become a nationally recognized brand, working with organizations like Aflac, City Furniture, Amerant Bank, and UKG. His unique blend of sports discipline and business savvy has fueled explosive growth, earning the firm a spot as a Seminole 100 honoree for the fastest-growing companies led by FSU alumni.

On thing that caught my attention with Marc is his belief in getting 1% better every day—and little successes added up to huge wins. I totally agree with this philosophy and had to have him on to discuss this and more.

450: Lessons for Hannah - Humble and Hungry

450: Lessons for Hannah - Humble and Hungry

Many years ago, I introduced a new format that alongside our regular episodes called “Lessons for Hannah.” Hannah is my daughter and one of the main inspirations for the Misfit Entrepreneur. I wanted to have a place where she could go and learn from her daddy and his Misfit friends throughout her life….even after I am gone. If you haven’t listened to the first episode of "Lessons for Hannah," I urge you to as it gives some more background and tells the amazing story of how Hannah came to be in our lives.

Lessons for Hannah are short, very useful, and sometimes comical lessons, that I want to share with you and give to Hannah to help in your lives. Because I want Hannah to have these for her life, I’m going to speak as though I am talking directly to her. These episodes are a lot of fun and if you think there is a lesson that we should include in these episodes, please don’t hesitate to send it over to us at support@misfitentrepreneur.com. We’d love to share it.

449: Wealth Without Wall Street, Russ Morgan on Building Passive Income & Achieving Financial Freedom Your Way

449: Wealth Without Wall Street, Russ Morgan on Building Passive Income & Achieving Financial Freedom Your Way

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Russ Morgan. If you’ve ever wanted to achieve financial freedom without being shackled to the ups and downs of Wall Street, Russ is someone you need to hear from. He’s the Co-Founder of Wealth Without Wall Street, a movement and platform dedicated to helping individuals take control of their financial futures through passive income and unconventional wealth strategies.

Nicknamed “The Idea Guy,” Russ started out in the traditional world of financial advising back in 2004, but soon realized the system he was a part of was fundamentally broken. That realization led him on a journey of reinvention—one that culminated in the creation of Wealth Without Wall Street in 2015. Through their podcast, online community, and educational resources, Russ and his team have helped thousands of people break free from the limiting beliefs and systems of traditional finance.

What stood out to me is Russ’s fearless mindset—his motto is “Just try!” And in today’s world where many are overwhelmed with financial stress, he’s proving there’s another path—one built on simplicity, control, and true freedom.

447: Pain, Patience, and Progress: Entrepreneur Lessons from My Healing Journey

447: Pain, Patience, and Progress: Entrepreneur Lessons from My Healing Journey

Hello Misfit Nation! Welcome to another episode of The Misfit Entrepreneur.  Before I jump in, if your new to this watching the show on YouTube, hit the subscribe button below, give this video a like and comment as well; we do our best to respond to all comments as timely as possible.

Yes, I’m back. It’s been a couple of weeks since I released a new episode, and today’s show is a little different—but maybe one of the most important I’ve ever done.

Why? Because over the last five weeks, I’ve been on a journey—a journey of healing, of physical and mental challenge, of patience, and of rediscovery. And I want to share some of the incredible lessons I’ve learned along the way.

You may or may not know, I had a pretty major setback with my back. A disc extrusion at L3-L4 compressed a nerve and literally made it so I couldn’t stand, walk, or sleep without pain. I went from top-tier Ironman athlete—training 15 to 20 hours a week—to someone who couldn’t even put on socks without pain shooting down my leg.

And I want to be honest—it was humbling. It shook me.

But in that experience, I found a deeper level of discipline, resilience, and focus than I’ve ever tapped into before. And that’s what I want to talk about today. Because the lessons I’ve learned in healing my body translate perfectly to building a business, growing a team, and leading in life.

446: The Stride Philosophy, How Small Actions Create Big Success & Unlock High Performance with JJ Harling

446: The Stride Philosophy, How Small Actions Create Big Success & Unlock High Performance with JJ Harling

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Josiah "JJ" Hartling. If you’ve ever wanted to understand the mindset and strategy behind sustained high performance, JJ is the guy to learn from. He is the author of Stride and the founder of Compel Global, where he helps leaders and organizations harness their full potential through intentional action and discipline.

But what really caught my attention is JJ’s philosophy on the power of relentless momentum. In Stride, he talks about how small, consistent actions—taken daily—are what separate the extraordinary from the average. He shares how elite performers don’t just wait for inspiration; they create it through habits and systems that keep them moving forward, no matter the obstacles. As he puts it, “Success isn’t about speed—it’s about stride. The right rhythm, maintained over time, beats raw talent every time.”

That quote alone got me fired up to have him on the show.
