Nathan Marz is a programmer and entrepreneur. Currently residing in Hawaii, he is the founder of Red Planet Labs, a company focused on revolutionizing the economics of software development.
Nathan's notable achievement came in 2011 when he created and open-sourced the Apache Storm project. Storm introduced a new category of open-source technology, scalable stream processing with robust data processing guarantees. It quickly gained popularity and became one of the world's most widely used stream processors, adopted by major companies such as Yahoo!, Microsoft, Alibaba, Spotify, and more.
In addition to his work on Apache Storm, Nathan is also an author. In 2015, he published a book that delves into the theoretical foundation of building large-scale data systems, showcasing his expertise in the field.
With the ambition of transforming the economics of software development, He established Red Planet Labs back in 2013. Following an extensive solo research phase spanning over five years, he secured a seed round of funding and built the core team.
