Bio of Ray Dalio

Ray Dalio is a globally recognized investor and philanthropist with over 50 years of experience in macro investing. He is the founder of Bridgewater Associates, which he started from his two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Under his leadership, the company grew to become the largest hedge fund in the world. Today, Ray remains an investor, mentor, and board member at Bridgewater.

Apart from his work in the finance industry, Ray is also a bestselling author of three books: Principles: Life and Work, Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order, and Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crises. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance from C.W. Post College in 1971 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1973.

Ray is an active philanthropist, supporting causes related to ocean exploration and equal opportunity in education, healthcare, and finance. He has been married to his wife, Barbara, for over 40 years and has three grown sons and five grandchildren.
