Jeb Banner's journey into the business world took an unconventional path, as he spent much of his 20s pursuing a career as a musician, trying to evade adult responsibilities. However, he gained valuable experience by establishing a couple of successful auction businesses, which motivated him to launch SmallBox in 2006. Initially conceived as a marketing agency, SmallBox later transformed into a strategic consultancy specializing in assisting mission-driven organizations with branding and design.
In 2018, Jeb departed SmallBox and assumed the role of full-time CEO at Boardable, a board management software company. This opportunity allowed him to spearhead the company's growth, serving more than 2,000 organizations worldwide. In 2020, Boardable secured $8 million in a Series A funding round, enabling strategic investments in team and product development. Despite these successes, in 2023, Jeb Banner made the decision to leave Boardable and embark on a new venture with Opendate, a venue management and ticketing solution that originated from the Vogue nightclub in Indianapolis during the pandemic. Thrilled to work alongside an exceptional team and product, Jeb eagerly embraced this new opportunity at Opendate.
