Mastering Your Message: How to Communicate Your Value to Attract Champagne Clients

Mastering Your Message: How to Communicate Your Value to Attract Champagne Clients

Good communication is the key to any successful business. But let’s be honest—it can feel really hard to figure out what to say to attract the right clients. This week, I’m sharing how to create a clear message that connects with the kind of clients you really want to work with. I call them “champagne clients”—they’re the ones who truly value what you offer and help your business grow, without needing you to post nonstop, cut your prices, or completely change your brand.

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. Be clear in your messaging, so people understand what you do and how valuable it is to work with you. If your message isn't clear, you're unlikely to attract the right clients.
  2. Understand your audience - knowing the specific details about who you help allows you to craft a message that truly resonates with the right people.
  3. Instead of focusing on tasks, your messaging should communicate the transformation you provide. Clients are more interested in outcomes than processes.
  4. Developing and naming a unique method or approach will enhance how you communicate your value and can set you apart in the market.
  5. Once your message is clear, it should be consistently communicated across all platforms and interactions, becoming a guiding principle for content creation and client engagement.
  6. Avoid being vague, listing tactics instead of transformations, trying to appeal to everyone, and underselling your strategic abilities.
  7. Use my three-part formula for compelling messaging: identify who you help, what you help them achieve, and how you do it.
  8. Mastering your messaging can serve as an advanced strategy to attract higher-level clients without significantly restructuring your entire business.

The One Thing Your Discovery Calls Are Missing (That’s Costing You Clients)

The One Thing Your Discovery Calls Are Missing (That’s Costing You Clients)

When it comes to sales, conversion rates, and how long it takes to turn prospects into paying clients, it can make a big difference in your business. Many freelancers and business owners struggle with potential clients getting stuck in indecision. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone! This week, I’m sharing a simple yet powerful strategy that completely changed my sales calls and boosted my client conversion rate. I truly believe this small tweak to your discovery calls can make a big impact for you too!

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. If a client needs time to think after a discovery call, schedule a follow-up call within the next two days to maintain momentum
  2. The follow-up call strategy can drastically improve your close rate and reduce the time between initial contact and signing the contract.
  3. This method weeds out those who aren't immediately serious about your service, allowing you to focus on potential clients who have more urgency and also positions you as an expert with a professional process, showcasing confidence in your service offerings.
  4. Keeping a structured approach reduces the feeling of being salesy, as it's more about assisting in the decision-making process. Don’t forget to reiterate the client's goals to remind them of the reasons they wanted to work with you.
  5. By organizing follow-up calls rather than relying on emails, you're likely to get a quicker response, as emails tend to be neglected. It can help cut down instances of ghosting and give you more confidence during sales calls!
  6. The final step of getting a contract signed and an invoice paid during the follow-up call ensures there’s no lingering wait, which helps secure the client's commitment.

How to Invest in the Right Course (and Avoid Wasting Money on Disappointing Ones)

How to Invest in the Right Course (and Avoid Wasting Money on Disappointing Ones)

The world of online courses is bigger than ever, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to pick the right one. Many people have spent tons of money on courses that didn’t live up to the hype, making them extra careful about what they buy next. Today, we’ll go over how to find the best programs for you so you can feel confident about where you’re spending your time and money and ensure they align with your specific goals.

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. Set Proper Expectations: Define what you expect from a course, and consider if your goals align with what the course offers at your current business stage.
  2. Use a 5-Point Checklist: This helps you assess whether a course is right for you, based on factors like free content, low-ticket products, testimonials, creator experience, and available support.
  3. Valuable Free Content as an Indicator: The quality of free content can reflect the quality of paid content. Look for creators offering substantial value rather than just fluff.
  4. Importance of Low-Ticket Products: Testing a creator's style through low-cost products gives insight into their teaching effectiveness.
  5. Assessing Testimonials and Success Stories: Check for recent and varied success stories that align with the outcomes you're seeking.
  6. Evaluate the Creator's Experience and Testimonials: Learn from individuals actively practicing what they teach and who are immersed in current industry practices. Determine what type of support the course offers and whether it suits your personal learning needs.
  7. Learning from Disappointing Investments: If you've made a poor investment, don't be too hard on yourself. Try to salvage valuable takeaways and use them as learning experiences for future investments.

Raising Your Rates With Your Current Clients Without Losing Them

Raising Your Rates With Your Current Clients Without Losing Them

As a service-based business owner, setting the right price for your expertise might seem like an impossible task. While many freelancers might undervalue their services, it's important to periodically assess and adjust pricing to align with your growing expertise and business goals. Let’s explore how you can strategically raise your rates with existing clients without losing them, ensuring that your business not only survives but thrives.

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. Raising rates can align your pricing with the value and results you deliver to your clients, particularly in ad management where value is easily quantifiable.
  2. Evaluating your existing client contracts is crucial before raising rates, focusing on how long they have been with you and the results they’ve achieved.
  3. Approaching price increases should involve a structured communication plan, possibly including a good, better, best pricing approach.
  4. Price increases should be viewed as a benefit to both the freelancer and the client, allowing for more focused service with fewer clients.
  5. Price anchoring is an effective strategy in communicating new rates, helping clients perceive the value difference.
  6. Facing pushback from clients requires standing firm on your value and being prepared with alternative options or downsells.
  7. Raising rates can prevent burnout for freelancers, aligning your client workload with your financial and business goals.
  8. Incremental rate increases or new contracts with existing clients are ways to achieve better financial stability without completely disrupting your current client relationships.

Core Setup & Blocked Events

Core Setup & Blocked Events

As an online business owner, keeping up with the latest changes and updates is essential to staying ahead. For certified ad managers and those working toward certification, maintaining sharp skills and up-to-date knowledge is crucial. Recently, the ad management landscape has evolved, particularly within Meta. In this post, we’ll break down the latest updates—focusing on core setup and blocked events—and offer actionable insights for ad managers working with clients in health, religion, and finance.

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. Meta's ad management has rapidly evolved in the past two months, specifically affecting health, religion, and finance accounts.
  2. Core setup issues occur at a domain level, impacting URL tracking and potentially blocking domain data from being sent.
  3. If your domain or client's domain is affected, core setups may restrict tracking parameters beyond standard URLs.
  4. New rules have made standard events blocked, hindering the tracking of conversions like leads and purchases, but custom events may serve as a workaround.
  5. Ad managers should observe new policies' developments, stay informed, and adjust their strategies accordingly.
  6. It's essential not to overreact to changes, as past experience with iOS 14 taught that workarounds always emerge.

In a world where digital interactions and social media are here to stay, social selling has come out as a key strategy for building lasting client relationships. Instagram, previously known solely as a visual platform, has now transformed into a focal point for meaningful business connections. The skill of starting conversations in direct messages (DMs) can result in booked calls and business growth. Let's dive into the steps to mastering social selling on Instagram.

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. How to use DMs to build relationships and schedule more discovery calls without being spammy.
  2. The importance of a pre DM strategy, including identifying the type of clients you want to work with and ensuring they are present on Instagram.

  4. Optimize your Instagram profile, including bio and content, to address the pain points and desires of your target audience.
  5. Interact with your identified potential clients’ content genuinely before initiating a DM conversation and then use questions over statements in DMs to foster genuine conversation and not come off as spammy.
  6. Why posting consistently on Instagram can transform passive marketing to active relationship building.
  7. Follow-up is so important in turning initial conversations into scheduled calls, and why manual scheduling over using schedulers.

The Local Advantage: Finding High-Paying Clients in Your Own Backyard

Finding high-paying clients might not require you to venture far beyond your doorstep. Local businesses are often overlooked but have a lot of potential that could benefit your service-based business. Today we are deep diving into how you can leverage the local advantage to grow your clientele while also improving your own community.

Topics Covered In This Episode:

  1. Leveraging local businesses to find high-paying clients in your area can be a great option since there are businesses everywhere regardless of your town’s size!
  2. Niching down doesn't always mean local; it can be location-dependent, like HVAC companies, restaurants, etc.
  3. Making a comprehensive list of local businesses is crucial; start with those you frequent and notice within your community.
  4. Consider the "four B's" (buses, benches, brochures, billboards) to identify businesses actively marketing themselves.
  5. Various methods can be used to connect with local businesses: cold calling, cold emails, in-person networking, and asking for referrals.
  6. Local networking groups provide opportunities to build trust more quickly with potential clients.
  7. Facebook groups specific to your area can be gold mines for identifying local business opportunities.
  8. Local clients often establish longer relationships with service providers compared to online businesses, providing more stability.
