Women Governance Trailblazers - Eun Ah Choi

In this episode of Women Governance Trailblazers, we talk with Eun Ah Choi. Eun Ah serves as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Regulatory Operations at Nasdaq. She manages the U.S. and European Listing Qualifications and Trading Surveillance teams, where she supports the goals of facilitating capital formation, maintaining fair and orderly markets, and protecting investors. Among other responsibilities, she manages multi-disciplinary teams responsible for assessing the qualification of listed companies and their continued compliance with Nasdaq’s listing standards. 

Prior to joining Nasdaq, Eun Ah advised business leaders and boards in her roles as in-house counsel at Willis Towers Watson and Northrop Grumman. In these roles, she was also responsible for leading complex projects and managing legal matters related to domestic and international M&A, antitrust, venture capital and strategic alliances. Eun Ah has also served as a senior executive at the Securities and Exchange Commission. During her tenure, she managed and significantly expanded a new office mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act that performed examinations, risk monitoring and data analytics related to the asset management industry. Prior to joining the SEC, Eun Ah was a partner at Hogan Lovells, and she started her career on Wall Street as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Prior to joining Silver Lake in 2017, Sharon served in the SEC's Enforcement Division. Her roles included Assistant Director of Enforcement in the SEC's New York Office and Regional Director of the SEC's Philadelphia Office, where she administered the Commission's enforcement and regulatory programs for the Mid-Atlantic region. Sharon began her career as a litigation associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York. In addition to her Noom directorship, Sharon also serves on a number of non-profit boards, including the Silicon Valley chapter of the American Leadership Forum.

In this episode of Women Governance Trailblazers, we talk with Lucy Fato, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the New York City-based real estate and entertainment firm Seaport Entertainment Group, which is a recent spinoff from Howard Hughes Holdings and now listed on the NYSE. Seaport’s business ventures include mixed-use development at New York City’s South Street Seaport and the Las Vegas Aviators baseball team. Before joining Seaport Entertainment in May 2024, Lucy served as Vice Chair of AIG from October 2023 through March 2024. Previously, beginning in 2017, she served as AIG’s General Counsel and Global Head of Communications and Government Affairs. Prior to her time at AIG, Lucy has led various legal teams, including time as General Counsel of McGraw-Hill Financial, which is now known as S&P Global Inc., and for nine years prior to that, she served as Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Marsh McLennan. Lucy began her legal career at Davis Polk & Wardwell, where she spent fourteen years as a capital markets lawyer, including five as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department. Lucy also serves on the advisory boards of Nardello & Co., a global private investigative firm, and of the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession. She also sits on the board of directors of the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation and is a Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel.

Lily is currently Assistant Dean at Syracuse University College of Law. Lily is also a leader with NAPABA, a national organization with over 80,000 members representing the interests of Asian Pacific American lawyers, judges, law students, and law professors.  She Chairs the Best Under 40 Award Selection Committee and also Chairs the NAPABA In-House Counsel Summit with programming for the highly selected Pipeliners program, targeting those AAPHI in-house counsels qualified to be the next Fortune 1000 General Counsel. Over the course of her career, she has led complex, international legal functions at Arrow Electronics and Public Storage, and held a number of leadership roles at Ingram Micro, where she worked in-house for almost 18 years. Lily has also spent time in private practice, and she served on the global board of the Association of Corporate Counsel for three years and served on the Executive Committee for two years. Lily previously served as an independent director, Chair of the Nominating Committee, and a member of the Compensation and Audit Committees at NUBURU, Inc., which is an NYSE American-listed company pioneering a new type of laser for metal processing, 3D printing, and more.
