Besides dentistry, Dr. McDonald enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is a minimally talented, yet very enthusiastic golfer.

He is an out-of-the-box general dentist who has practiced for 21 years. As a multi-practice owner, Dr. Dent has built a successful career treating special needs patients of all ages in a nonconventional way using desensitization.

Dr. Dent is a fellow of Academy of Dentistry International, clinical director for Special Olympics Special Smiles, Clinical Assistant Professor at UTSD-Houston, and Co-founder of the Dental Desensitization System. He is married to his wife Jennifer, father to his daughter Jayden, and son Ethan, who has Autism.

This week JB briefly touches on the murder of UnitedHealthCare CEO. Our news pivots to a more positive story for some previous Smile Direct Club customers. There will be refunds handed out to some of you! Next up- the Corporate Transparency Act that JB previously warned us about has been put on pause. Lastly JB talks about the new Healthcare cyber security proposal and her concerns with it. A lot of topics touched on in this episode that you wont want to miss!

A few interesting news stories in this episode! We are seeing new legislation being passed to help increase the number of hygienist and hygiene educators. Hopefully this will help those of us struggling to find qualified candidates to hire. JB is also shedding some light on the new Corporate Transparency Act that is impacting small dental businesses. If you are not familiar, you may want to look into it before the January deadline because not filing will come with some heavy monetary fines. Lastly we dive into the FDA involvement of a bacteria problem at the popular Tom's of Maine manufacturing plant.
