Lisa Martin is a leadership coach who has coached thousands of leaders across hundreds of organizations. She started her career as an executive leader in PR in 1998, but soon realized that her approach of telling everyone what to do was not working. Her team missed deadlines, stopped sharing ideas, and showed up late for meetings. So, she started to learn coaching skills, which transformed her leadership style. Instead of telling, she started asking questions and listening mindfully. She became a coach-like leader, which resulted in a more engaged and high-performing team.
In 2003, Lisa got her coaching certification (PCC, ICF) and has since then made it her mission to help organizations improve the effectiveness of their people leaders. She believes that coaching is the leadership skill that can accomplish this most efficiently, effectively, and expeditiously. To fulfill her mission, she created The Coach-Like Leader Experience in 2021, which has helped organizations support their new leaders with small teams, seasoned leaders with large teams, and their CEOs to leverage coaching skills and drive higher employee engagement, improved team performance, and rewarding financial results.
